Workshop “zzz - wien spezial” - 2018 - TU Vienna, METRO Kinokulturhaus
How can we think the cinematic realm without the actual cinematic space and its set of rules ( = dispositif)? Since the advent of film, the basic concepts of cinema as a cultural "Leitmotiv" has been growing and expanding enormously. Consequently, artists in the 1960s started to question the limitations of the screen, and the term "expanded cinema" was established. In an actionistic way, cinema got transferred to public space and an interaction with the audience was stressed (Viennese Actionism). Today, we find ubiquitous forms of the moving image on buildings, subway stations, football fields etc. The everyday use of the mobile phone today, resembles a private peep box in our hands.

Workshop “CINEMA DIRECT” - 2017 - TU Vienna, TVFA
The direct processing of analog 16-mm film material, the body of the film itself, conveys spatiality in abstract form. This is linked to the idea that the staging of the image, i.e. the projection, the monitor or the like, requires a spatial construction or an arrangement in space. A spatial construction as a derivation of the projection and as part of the existing space.
